We are excited to announce we are looking for artists to participate in our 4th annual Art for the Paws fundraiser! Artists of all abilities, ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate by creating works of art in a variety of mediums on 6″ x 6″ canvases. Starting January 2, 2018, canvases may be picked up at Helping Paws Animal Shelter or any of the following locations during regular business hours for a donation of $5 each.

• Material Things Artisan Market, 103 E. Van Buren St., Woodstock

• Reprographics, 26 Crystal Lake Plaza, Crystal Lake

• The Studio Art School, 3316 Pearl St., McHenry

All mediums are allowed (i.e., painting, ink, photography, mixed media, pottery, etc.). The artwork does not have to be animal related, however we do enjoy seeing all the wonderful art inspired by pets and animals. Completed canvases are due no later than 4 p.m. Feb. 28, 2018. Each work of art will be photographed and displayed on the on-line auction website. A portion of the 350 canvases will be mounted together to form a mosaic that will be displayed at the Woodstock Public Library and other locations to be announced. The canvases will be displayed in one large mosaic at a public reception on April 21, 2018 at Mixin Mingle, 124 Cass St., Woodstock.

All artwork will be available for purchase through an on-line auction with bids starting at a minimum of $25 for each piece of art with all proceeds to benefit Helping Paws.
