Helping Paws receives no government funding. All services we provide the community are funded by individual and business donations, grants from charitable foundations, pet adoption fees and fundraising activities held throughout the year.
There are many ways to show your support and help us continue to save the lives of homeless animals each year. All donations made to Helping Paws Animal Shelter are tax-deductible and are used to help care for the animals at our shelter.
Shelter Wish List
Running an animal shelter is expensive and many supplies are needed to support Helping Paws’ operations and care of the animals on a daily basis. While animals are in our care, they receive the best medical attention, good nutrition and a clean, safe environment — all of which require supplies. Please take a moment to review or download a copy of our Wish List. Anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off any day of the week between 12:00pm and 4:00pm (until 7:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays). You can also send gifts to the following address:
Helping Paws Animal Shelter
2500 Harding Lane
Woodstock, IL 60098
Did you know that your donation to Helping Paws Animal Shelter could be matched up to 100% or more by your employer? Many companies offer matching gift programs that will double or even triple a donation’s value. Check with your company to find out if they will match your donation today!
Have you connected with an animal in our shelter that is very special or who really warmed your heart? Perhaps it’s not the right time for you to adopt, but you’d love to help get an animal adopted? Become a Guardian Angel by sponsoring a cat cage or dog kennel and show potential adopters that all animals are worthy of a loving home. The plaque will be hung on your sponsored cat cage or dog kennel, which designates you as that pet’s personal Guardian Angel. You can also sponsor a cage/kennel for your company, community group, organization or family. Guardian Angel Sponsorships start at just $50.
Since we work hard to find all our shelter pets’ new homes as quickly as possible, you may help several animals during your sponsorship period. To become a Guardian Angel, please download the form.
Would you like to permanently memorialize a special pet or person who touched your life? Everyone needs a friend and our Friendship Wall is a wonderful opportunity to show your support for the animals. By sponsoring, one of these paw-shaped plaques will be mounted permanently on our Friendship Wall at the shelter, and you can forever honor or memorialize a special pet or person who has touched your life. These commemorative paw prints are available in variety of sizes and donation levels. Download the form here.
A memorial gift to Helping Paws Animal Shelter is a personal remembrance that honors the life of a beloved pet. With a donation of $50, you can make a lasting tribute for your beloved pet on our Pet Memorial Wall. Your memorial plate will be engraved with your dedication and placed on our wall in the entrance as a permanent remembrance of your loved one(s). Each plate measures 1″ x 3″ and allows you up to 4 lines of text.
To add a remembrance of your pet to our Pet Memorial Wall, please download the form here.
Special Cat Care Sponsorship
There are several dozen cats at the shelter who, for one reason or another, have had difficulty in being adopted. Many are just very shy, requiring an extra-patient adopter with a very quiet household. Others have minor, treatable health issues. A few may not always use the litter box consistently. Many of these have been with us for years. Would you consider sponsoring one of these ‘special’ cats to help cover their expenses? It is our hope that many will eventually be adopted, but in the meantime we would be very grateful for any help you can give us towards their care.
For a complete list and photos of cats available for sponsorship, click here. To become a sponsor, please download the Special Cat Sponsorship Form. You will receive a photo of the cat(s) you choose and your name and the picture(s) of the cat(s) will be on display in the Helping Paws entrance acknowledging your sponsorship.
