VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTIONS

  • Shelter/Offsite Events: Join Us for Shelter/Offsite Events!

Our shelter frequently participates in offsite events, where we have the opportunity to bring our animals into the community and meet potential adopters face-to-face. Whether we're showing off our adoptable pets or simply setting up a table with information, these events are a great way to promote our mission and raise awareness for the shelter.

Some events will feature our animals directly, while others may just include a table to share details about how people can help or adopt. No matter the setup, these events are vital in getting the word out about our shelter and finding our animals the loving homes they deserve!

Interested in helping out at one of our upcoming events? Whether it’s talking to visitors, setting up the booth, or handling logistics, we’d love to have you involved! Reach out to volunteer@helpingpaws.net for more details.

You can even teach them new tricks if you’re up for it!

Your involvement will make a huge impact on their lives, enriching their time at the shelter and ensuring they feel loved and cared for as they wait for their forever homes.

Our dogs need regular walks and exercise throughout the day, and we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help. Walks are needed during morning, afternoon, and evening hours, ensuring the dogs get the fresh air and exercise they need to stay healthy and happy.

In addition to walking, cleaning kennels is also part of the role, as it helps maintain a clean and comfortable environment for our dogs.

Note: All volunteers must complete training before handling our dogs to ensure everyone’s safety and the well-being of the animals.

If you’re ready to give our dogs the care, attention, and exercise they deserve, we’d love to have you on board!

  • Wishlist/Tag days: Tag Days & Wish List Events: Support the Animals This Season!

  • Our Tag Days and Wish List Events are seasonal events that run from April through October, offering a great opportunity for the community to come together and make a difference.

  • Tag Days: You’ll find us outside local grocery stores with donation jugs, asking for monetary contributions to help fund the shelter’s efforts. Every dollar donated helps provide care, vaccinations, and shelter for animals in need.

  • Wish List Events: During these days, we stand outside stores with a list of the items we need most. Whether it’s food, toys, or supplies, shoppers can pick up an item from the list and donate it right then and there. Once we’ve gathered the donations, we load everything into a van and bring it back to the shelter.

These events are a great way to get involved, support the shelter, and help make a tangible impact on the lives of animals awaiting adoption.
