Join us for the 11th annual Panting for Paws 5K and 1 Mile Family Run/Walk at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on Sunday, November 5.  This event is for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels who want to help the homeless animals.

Feeling competitive and want to run/walk the 5K? Your race will be timed (CARA certified) and you’ll be able to enjoy a free post-race beer after the event, courtesy of Bulldog Ale House of McHenry. There will also be snacks and light refreshments for all to enjoy!

Don’t feel like racing the full 5k? Sign-up for the 1 Mile Family Run/Walk and enjoy all the awesome perks, including a long sleeve performance shirt this year! This year dogs CAN participate in the 1 Mile Family Run/Walk.  There is no cost for dogs. NOTE: Well-behaved and socialized dogs who are 6 months and older are welcome to participate. Dogs MUST be on leash at all times during this event and while at Lippold Park.

For the 5K race, medals and prizes will be awarded to top female and top male runner. Medals will also be awarded to the top three female and top three male finishers in the 5K in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80 & over.

Participants can register individually or form a team. A fundraising page can also be created to help raise even more for the animals at Helping Paws.

Each registration includes:

  • Long sleeve performance shirt
  • Drawstring backsack with goodies
  • Free post-race beer, provided by Bulldog Ale House-McHenry, following the race (for participants 21+ only)
  • Complimentary snacks and refreshments
  • 5K is CARA-certified and timed

NOTE: Due to the size of the 5K race and safety of all participants, strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. You can participate in the 1 Mile Family Run/Walk with strollers and/or dogs who are people- and dog-friendly.

Online registration is open here.

Register early and save $5 on 5K registrations through September 30, 2017.
