Join us for the 12th annual Panting for Paws 5K and 1 Mile Family Run/Walk at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on Saturday, November  10, 2018This event is for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels who want to support homeless animals!

We have moved the date of the event to Saturday to hopefully allow more people to participate in all the FUN!

Feeling competitive? The 5K is for runners and walkers.  Your race will be timed (CARA certified).  For the 5K race, medals and prizes will be awarded to top female and top male runner. Medals will also be awarded to the top three female and top three male finishers in the 5K in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80 & over.

Don’t feel like running a 5K? Sign up for the 1 Mile Family Run/Walk. This event is untimed and you can participate with your dog(s) too!  Get all the awesome perks including a long sleeve performance shirt and hang out with your BFF (best furry friend)!  There is no additional cost for dogs. NOTE: Well-behaved and socialized dogs who are 6 months and older are welcome to participate. Only 2 dogs per adult handler and ALL dogs MUST be on leash (no longer than 6′)  at all times during the event and while at Lippold Park.

Participants can register individually or even form a team with family, friends or co-workers. You can even set up your own fundraising page to gather donations and help raise even more for the animals at Helping Paws.

After the races and during the awards ceremony, everyone is welcome to join us for the “After Pawty”! We will be serving a hot dog lunch, beer (for participants who are 21+), lemonade and other refreshments. Of course there will be other snacks including bananas, bagels and more.

NOTE: Due to the size of the 5K race and safety of all participants, strollers and dogs are NOT allowed on the course. You can participate in the 1 Mile Family Run/Walk with strollers and/or dogs who are people- and dog-friendly.

The course starts and finishes near the large pavilion near the softball fields.  The course is flat and primarily crushed limestone.
